So when it comes to real dead cheap cases does sometimes mean that the case would me missing some of the shine of their more expensive and ultimately much bigger brothers in gaming or conventional PC cases. While with the price tag of about less than $100 in over the internet, the Thermaltake M9D is the name you need to type in Google.
With the Thermaltake M9D is a tower type case with a black aluminium shell with a great windows case with a large 230mm fans to ventilate out from the side of the case. With the Thermaltake branding logo being engraved in the side of the case, means you cannot makes to believe your friend that you made it yourself, and a top PSU location with other 120mm fans in the front for the HDD bays and at the back to exhaust the CPU heat away. With a windows front door to cover up the contrast colours of the optical drive with a black cover and some ventilating mesh, with one eSATA port built in and the other two USB is a good variety, when you don’t have an eSATA port connector in the board or just compensate with one of the internal SATA ports.
For the noise levels of the case is quite loud when placed in the high settings with getting most of the heat in and then out of the case, the sound factor is completely annoying when you want to have a cheap silent but cool case. It has about 7 expansion slots with the tool less design for no hassle of using a Phillips screw driver. But for the front drive bay, which has, five 5.2in optical drives and about five 3.5in bays one that is external for the floppy, is also tool less but some of the parts coming together needs to be screwed in. I have no problem when installing any type of form factor, mini ITX to the full form ATX boards with a great space clearance to the case with your mobo, which in turn can be used to run several thin cables underneath the boards with some sneaky way for a power cable around the board, something like that.
For much of the board we normally find in the store, or the lazy alternative of going through the internet, you may find this Thermaltake case pretty much any where if you look harder enough, for the budget in mind, this may be the last resort case on when some guy beat you on a price bargain in eBay. There are a lot of cases to choose from. For the mean time make this as your last on the list for Christmas.
