With Intel expecting the welcome intro of the new Intel core 7i for the desktop platform, the Processors are not yet released yet, and by first releasing the X58 chipset to accommodate the LGA1366-pin socket with the use of the triple channel DIMM memory with the use of SLI and crossfireX for support. The X58 is a different way to show the new product, wit the Intel Core 2 Duo processors going first then the chipsets, because they use the same pin design as the Pentium4. For that the new 1366-pin has a major difference over size and design, so they normally display the chipset rather than the CPU first.
So it doesn’t make any major motherboard provider to release of their own design of the new X58, the ASUS release of the X58/ICH10R chipset and they call it the ASUS P6T Deluxe series. With the Full ATX form factor and having the OEM specs, the only change is the use of a North and PWM heat-sinks with the new wind-flow thermal design that, uses the CPU’s top down cooler as a duct of air from the cooler. For most of the motherboard heat-sink, I would expect a water-cooling block for this and personally, it is great to have a heat-sink design to go with aesthetics and appeal but you can’t go wrong with the insurance of a good water-cool.
But for some, air is good enough, and as a deluxe series of ASUS, you would not expect to be an extreme choice. With the X58 going more of a speculation that it ever did in my opinion, for the Skulltrail with the support of NVIDIA SLI graphics solution, with the N200 chipset that will support only two NVIDIA graphics to battle it out with ATI’s own discrete graphics to have it compatible to any Intel chipsets.
For much of the boards specs are the, triple channel DDR3 memory, With the CPU front bus speed of about to 1066 MHz to the 1600 MHz or maybe the 2000 MHz mark, with the Southbridge going with the new ICH10R with the support of six SATA ports one IDE and floppy port. With much of the performance is out of reach because I wasn’t bundles of a processor and so in-turn I cannot use the board. But the board looks impressive and has a host of features, like a hybrid engine to control power in the board, with a USB onboard overclocking and also a lot of connection on the back, eSATA and also 7 channel audio ports for HI-DEF sounds.
For much of the boards height, with the Intel Core 7i being a month or year away, we can’t wait for it to be released, and the sneak peak of the boards to host the processor is a great preview but we would never know how it performs and bugs or problems it may have. So the ASUS is a great preview but we would expect new stuff coming in the X58.
