The fallout is here… well not literally, fallout 3, the third instalment of the much acclaimed games developer as I should know is located in somewhere in the 52 states of the US, for being one of the makers of elder Scrolls: Oblivion way back in 2004. And it is about time they make a comeback with the other type of RPG game that they have made in the last ten years or so, which was to re live the Fallout franchise.
With the story of Fallout deriving form the two previous games, you are in the 1950’s and the Cold War went out of have and lead the Americans and the Russians to have an all out nuclear bombardment, and found out that the whole world and especially destroyed, you are one of the lucky survivors of the nuclear fallout and living with a other survivors in an underground bunker. Fro much of the game, you meet other survivors and their sown story to tell, but your story is different. You find that you need to leave the safety of the bunker to the open world. The atmosphere of the world is so barren and also evidence enough in the sky and the environment, you would imagine if it happened now?
For the game play is all open and you will to do anything and choose whatever ending you like, more like Oblivion type with some aspects of Witcher, more or less explicit. Going more is the range of customizable items, with health items to weaponry, or even enemies is all unique in ways you cannot imagine. Mutants and zombies roam the now desolate place, with different factions of the surface survivors is also another to worry about. But if you find yourself in a firing-line, the interface come up and the game goes in a halt, the targeting system of Fallout is new and shows the host of shotting opportunities, rather than the head shots where all games go.
With this game with some problems in the classifications, with the reject of the game to the market for being drug endorsed game, with some of the items like syringes, and items like crack are shown to be used in a short period of time to increase stamina or heal in a short term, for a bit of editing of the game may make it playable to the public, but I personally seen other games with MA 15+ rating have shown drug related scenes, and clearly shows that, they take it seriously cracking down drug or any bad influence in a game that a 15 year old can get in best buy for about $80.
But for Fallout it is just the misconception of over-reacting classifying organisations, with where is already violent and drug related games in the market, but brushing of the cons, the good thing of the game is great game play and a whole new fighting system and relentless choice in most RPG games.
