The Antec Quattro 1000 Watt is a new type of range, or so from Antec, that they have introduced to you the Antec nine hundred gaming case and my favorite cases the performance 182. For the range and diversity of the products they have, gives it a good stance over in the major players for computer and gaming accessories. Now the PSU market that they also cover is exceptionally large with some range of products that I would not remember for the long years I have used. For the reason that they are not adequate for the power demands I have in the system, they have a great quality built for a long while now and it is really waning throughout the years and now is a real test for them.
With the Antec True power Quattro 1000 is not shielded with the built quality flaws. But for the design and the outside shell is striking to look at, with the racing stripes going in the top of the PSU with the rating power also visible as the number in the top. Plus a modular type PSU for an easy assembly and arrangement of the power cables. As for the power cables thought; it has the single motherboard cable, one four pin power connector to the older motherboard’s CPU socket, one eight pin for the modern motherboard CPU power inlet, tow of these 6+2 power pins, two PCIex sockets, eight SATA power jacks, nine Molex (those four pin miscellaneous power connectors) and lastly two floppy disk drives power connection.
Going to the test bed, we actually find out that it struggled to handle the load with the total of ten SATA hard-drives all in their read and write stages, even though it went quite well with the start up but then lowered its voltage values by about 0.4V from the motherboard main power connector, too much of the power wattage rating, is that it is too overrated, it cannot handle the stress for even for a 1000Watt rating PSU, comparing it with the Gigabyte Odin 850W with a much lower watt rating top out the best in its power rating stage and also going better for some 900W alternatives, beaten it with one single HDD added into our mobo test rig. Surely this is a great think for Antec bringing in with the 1000W PSU plus the physical appearance is to buy for, great to make it as a collection of car mag’s about it but you are just throwing money to those people who are selling it, with crazy laughs hearing from corner to corner. So why do they still release it, it will never go to the 1000W power rating mark, so why buy it?
