Some games really bring out the strategy but still keeping the moderation buy keeping the screen neat and pristine with the population caps and limiting you from building massive armies and while you built your one millionth units, it suddenly froze and not willing to continue on. Giving THQ has some of the games in the same character as this with Company of heroes and the up-coming Dawn of War II have the same pop cap, some other games like the big shot Microsoft made Age of Empires more noticeably the second instalment went just 600 in the cap, but there are other old games that went over 600, red alert and others that I already forgot.
Supreme Commander is a setting that faces where humanity is unopposed in all of the world, that scientist where wrong about removing mass from people and make it useless and created an alternative way to travel through planets plus the whole universe are at civil war and three distinct factions happily makes you three playable scenarios. For not giving a lot of detail of each the three factions are one is the Aeon illuminate, that wants to bring peace by the means of cleansing planets, the UEF is to unite the universe by one banner and the Cybrian nation is trying to save its own people that are in control of the UEF and tries to disrupt transportation to and from planets; this game basically represents a choice of one and the annihilation of the other two factions. With the game background well and truly not that stunning and plain for a matter of fact but the interface clearly give a good difference with other games. First of all the command centre is not been remodelled into a movable walking robot that rather than a central house of operations but you avatar in the game. So you can use you ACU (Armoured Command unit) as a moving shootin unit or a builder to make and army and let them shoot for you. Built tech trees and unit tech trees are very similar with the starter, which builds structures to make other units that built other complex structures and the same process goes on and on until you are able to build a fourth experimental tech, most of this are the super weapons depending of what faction you are.
This games also sport up unique queue on commands and other completely complex formations and instructions. Game overall is pretty pleasant but limited on the capabilities or each race but the span of the game can be easily much longer to play than most normal of RTS games; large armies and large maps give a pleasant feel of the game it just really depends if you get use to it.
