So if you like the feature that SDD have given for the past so three to six months well with Intel really in the dominance for processor and storage performance, with the X-25 SDD drive going to a great 120MB of normal read speeds but with some reason a slowish 70MB/s write speed, with an unbelievable price of about $300 with only 80GB of storage.
So the OCZ made a new SDD to really rival the new Intel X-25 drive but for now it may be a useful and usable SDD drive, for once for a high performance storage it can now handle 120GB or so of storage but still it isn’t enough for most users in mind like media and gaming people, but users have the tendency to have a use in some situations, they might RAID one which is an SDD drive and one for a large HDD drive so one will mostly redundant and have half way between high performance speeds and valuable disc space in the HDD. So OCZ comes up with the rest of the SDD variants and have a high performance ego, almost a fraction of latency with the help of no mechanical device in place and also resistant to any bumps of everyday lives and also fast enough to load the witcher (game) in half the time it takes my Seagate 1.5TB HDD to save a game file. But some of the disadvantages of these is clearly the space provided and also the read and write wear in the chips, like a USB in steroids it has a limit read and write count cycle of about 100,000 or 10,000 depending on the interface used to read and write the data in. But OCZ still deliver such speed in write about 167MB/s and 180MB/s in read speeds thus having almost the same read and write speed you can have just the same speed while writing and get it on display as fast enough to store in the drive. But it still cost you about $200 in the minimum side but for the real market about $350 if you’re lucky.
So most of all can you use this in world applications in any time, yes can you have a fast constant read and write speed over 100MB/s yes you can and also can I defrag some of the files in the SDD drive when I have fragmented files on it, not really if you want to shorten the lifespan of the SDD. Really Apex is a new wave of SDD having different NAND interface that Intel with the same read and write but can we really depend on some SDD’s to fail, if you are then stick to HDD’s for a while longer.
