The new X58 chipset for Intel is now a new step to the future. With the success of the Intel socket 775 and the chipsets, P35 for mainstream computing, the X38 and the X48 express chipsets for those ultimate gaming motherboards. Also to ad the achievement of Intel core 2 duo processors really end the new chapter for the big computer giant. While Intel have problems with the VIIV campaign all but dead, they can look at the good times of the Core 2 Duo processors in 2006-08, and it is a good thing that they moved forward to create a new revolution of computing hardware. X58 it’s out yet until the next year, the new processors that will be placed in the X58 is the CPU code named “Bloomfield”, while the basic information I can get is that it has an Intel socket1355 (the thing has 1355 pins to connector to the board) a 33nm architecture and triple channel DIMM with DDR3. With the release information in Taiwan, where they held the unveiling of the new Intel based hardware and also the prototype of the X58 and the core “Bloomfield”. While the diagram about the basic detail of the motherboard is that the Northbridge which is the X58 located can allocate two or four ATi or NVIDIA video cards, like the AMD version 790FX, but can only utilize four ATi video card also (see the review on gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6), as we don’t know the X58 can do SLI or crossfireX on it, with the ATi business is now own by AMD, there is a good chance that they can both SLI or crossfireX, like what they did with the Intel Skulltrail, but it is uncertain, but we all know is that it can host a total of four video cards with PCIe 2.0v or the new version of 3.0, and Intel going into new heights, with the triple channel DIIM DDR3 memory, for an increase of performance on opening and searching through programs in the Random Access Memory.
While the price of the thing is uncertain, they could be around about $500-$450 for the motherboard and about $1,450 for the CPU, like buying Intel core 2 Duo QX9770 with 1600FSB speed and the first one to buy the X48 express chipset from the shelf. While comparing the new one to the socket775, is that the new socket1355 has a more rectangular shaped CPU connector, and most of the surface area of the motherboard is now used for Intel, for transfer and connection usage, which makes it hard for third-party companies like Gigabyte and Abit to add in more components in the board, because of the triple channel and the eight lanes to the CPU and the Northbridge, really uses the silicone surface for just transfer information.
