The element S from Thermaltake is not a real natural pleaser and even the Greenpeace activist should agree, being made out of extracted iron ore and made into a metal sheet and manufactured to a case and fitted with some plastic dampeners and when bought it has a lifespan in the persons hoe for about 3-6 months and after that we can see this type of cases in land fill. But the Thermaltake Element S is no other case there is (but it still kills the environment in the beginning of production and also while in use). But we are more interested on the efficiently of the case to cool and hold enough computer components as possible and even a few water-cooling blocks or two would be nice in the case.
So while we let Greenpeace does their protesting then will go protest about the new element S case? With full black aluminium body chassis and also a front panel door that opens as usual to all of the cases that I have just reviewed, is being now the most popular feature in every case now, so we will find out why is a good thing to have a windowed front case. But going short to the details the case has a ATX form factor room and still has a windowed mesh in the side of the case for a open exhaust valve but it may have some problems when it comes to dust and cleanliness. But with the board internally looks as basic as the case might be three 5.21in optical bays so you are pretty limited to optical space and still have some room in the 3.25in bays of the total of six. So it can fit as a full form factor media board or a LAN gaming PC with an inclusion of Blur-ray disc. Fans however are a few sights here and there but not that overcrowded to clog your case with whirring sounds, but it does do that annoying noise here and there until you lower the rpm speed down. We should also have any inclusions of LED fans or any fancy stuff.
For the performance test stress benchmark in passive shows that the case gave a good run for its money, going 34 degrees in idle and 67 in load but in active cooling it went well with idle scores in 29 degrees and in load at 57 degree; while the noise level still crept up to the 65dBA mark so to cover up the noise you have to wear a ear piece or loud background music to keep it that way, or just buy another case, but if you are desperate a Thermaltake looks good for the budget.
