For most of the time we would like the use of the ROG trademark from ASS to be the most capable card or motherboard that ASUS can handle to produce in un-limited supply, but we have seen the introduction of the new Matrix edition graphics solutions with the unmistakable black PCB and the cooler look is far beyond the design that even Darth Vader made his mask on. But also the ASUS extreme editions of the Intel mostly is a marvellous use of enthusiast grade computing with some of the hefty prize tag before owning it.
While this graphics card from ASUS doesn’t have that type of hefty price tag when it come, if it comes up I would suspect to be the more in the $195 online purchase but who would say what prize they will put in, this is a financial crisis it can be much higher for the buying prize so watch out in the net for any details. While the 4850 Matrix looks and sounds familiar to all usual products being made by ASUS we would put this type of card in the side of the 9800GT for and ATI alternate form ASUS. It also has a different cooler as oppose the reference design but much better than the double slot design that they have emplaced this one, which has an all aluminium nickel based fins and also heat-pipes with a single fan located at the back and don’t even propose that is exhaust out form the back because of the fins also can exhaust inside the case and totally break the air case cycle inside. But my like the design purposes of the card with all black PCB and cooler colouration, as the same as the former Matrix 9800GT and the 9600GT great for windowed cases.
But far difference form that is the specs able to have a core frequency of 625MHz and a memory cycle of 1986Mhz effective is over-clocked but not that much to make any difference in any graphics score but to score high in the temps while under load and noise level are also in the lead, going 64 degrees and almost 69dBA in noise levels very ear piercing when just trying it out without the case and the 4850 being a much hotter variant than its NVIDIA 9600Gt variant, I wouldn’t recommend over-clocking anyway higher that is supposed to be. As I said probably a little higher in the frame rates in Crysis in medium mode with DX10 enabled, for about 64 fsp to be safe but never go to that road of high details. And also most modern day games can be playable in high detail mostly call of duty, mirrors edge and al of DX9c. games. Overall the graphics looks solid to play within its plug and play settings but being let down by high scores in both noise and temps under load.
