We have seen in a while of one Gigabyte variants of graphics card from some time now, well with the Hd4000 series still packs a punch even in the arrival of the new HD5000 series starting with the unveiling of the high end Hd5870 and the second variant HD5850.
Well for the first time come back of the Hd4890 in the one Gigabyte version of the faster GDDR5 memory. And the new 55nm fabrication process in the chip makes it in a much cooler state that most situations, like gaming or in benchmarking situations. While there was some previous problems with the cooling arrays based in the graphics card, with some instability in the whole system, because of the heat produced in such high loads when playing such high end games like Crysis. Well the VTX3D, a new player in the market, with the new ATI graphics card and a new look of the HD4890.

Well this looks like a double barrel fans in the graphics card itself, to try to keep the graphics PCB and the core in a respectable temperature threshold. Well you have to fed up with the noise of the twin fans which can come up to 56dBA in the well ventilated case in the rig. But the good part is, that the prize of the VTX3D HD4890 is about same as the much cheaper 4850, with the help of the prize drop from AMD in the graphics makes it an attractive buy for the general mainstream gamers.
To the part of physical features in the HD4890 is still the same red colour PCB design with a relatively large heat-sink wrapping around the front part of the graphics card, there is no signs of flow through of the air flow in the graphics card, it is just a quick hit of cold air from any part of the case and just dump it anywhere, which can have some problems in an ill ventilated case. But all in all the graphics card in the test of most software applications are spot on, on what they do on gaming or just simple HD rendering to any LCD TV or the humble monitor with ATI’s AVIVO HD technology.

Performance wise of the HD4890 from the VTX3D vendor is par to most of the 4890 with an additional 512Mb of video memory helped a bit of the loading times with a combination of a 4GB system memory to keep it to its optimum levels. Well the HD4890 VTX3D is no over-clocking statement, still using the same frequency of both the core and memory. But there is VTX3D over-clocking utility in the graphics card so we suppose to have it in its pre clock stage. This card can run for most of the time but we should suppose to look for much cheaper alternatives to mainstream graphics. VTX3D is daring but norm none the less.
