There had been the Middle Ages 400–476 with the invention of the chivalry and the use of weapons like swords and spears and the the war that most people call it as the crusades which happened in late 12th century, until up to the age of Computers 1999-2005 with bill Gates already built his empire and also the age of computers are as small as the new ASUS EEE PC laptop. And now we live in the age of knowledge or technology where we see Asimo the Honda made robot came out of the production lines and see what the age of robotics have in the real world, but thought time, we have robot serving us, making our cars and even fly our private planes in relative safety. But people have a fear of new ideas in the long term of; what if the worst thing happens? What if they is a rouge in the system? What if robots will be the end of us? That are the questions that most of the pessimist think in when they make movies that effect ones or other lives in the future.
The idea of robots is not new; we have all thought of robots and how our lives would be easier with them, from the countless number of movies which we have seen. We thought of robots so much that we have even thought of Robots controlling the world and causing destruction, such as the movies Terminator and I Robot. Which they have a bad influence on the world and gave mostly fear to the audience of what if might, not really going to happen in the age of robotics. Firstly, robots is a new subject with little fact in how to make one for real and a lot of theories on how we should make it. Secondly, robots, like computers super charged with human characteristics, can only be programmed to do one specific task or instructions and it is definitely hard for a programmer to specify a million instructions for the computer what to do in a simple task. Like the example of a situation of a crossing of the river and a row boat for only the only means of transport, the computer doesn’t know the problems could be, is there a paddle to use to row the boat, is the current too strong for it to be crossed or is there a bear blocking your way form the boat itself. The computer doesn’t think yet, it only does what it is told to do, not like us when we assess the problem in all forms of situations and problems and as a child we are fond of stuff we haven’t seen in your lifetime, that the definite flaws of artificial intelligence, we are not god yet but we are able to make a new superficial being or a skin of silicone to only do what it is told.
Yes the age of robotics is a wave of the future, but it is a long way off for the sci-fi movies that we always watch in the blockbuster cinemas but we are getting into that stage that robots can able to stand and even walk a few feet until the battery goes off.
