MSI, as you know the Micro Star International, a company prides itself to the making of overclockable boards and other stuff that does in a bang. MSI more or less like Foxcomm, which I never been reviewing, but will in the future, is targeting the one of the most upbeat players in the computing industry, those guys who goes into total lunacy when overclocking to over in my watch about 100MHz or more, by battling the heating problem by adding more copper to spread all the warm heat around, like sharing the love, but in a global warming state.

The MSI Circu theory
MSI going all in the enthusiast area of the block, by providing excellent silent cooling to the motherboard, which makes end-users more in the worry on what third party CPU design and shape, is gona affect to the installation of the cooler. The design of the Northbridge heat pipes are in my opinion, like the super charged car engine. With the thing having a maximum about three pipes going to the Northbridge and the south bridge, looks a lot but theoretically effectively spread the heat around. MSI P45 Platinum uses the P45 chipset with the support on all later and the latest Intel Core 2 Duo chips. With the support on the older DDR2 memory is a good deal when you consider the performance over DDR3 and the price of a kit or kits with the support on DDR-1066MHz up to 8GB’s eight SATA and one eSATA connectors.

With the rest of the connectors are the usual are the eight phase PWM’s and also a floppy drive connectors. With the board layout is a different sight (apart from the Heatpipe artwork) is the expended heat coverage in the back O/I panel which in turn be a problem if you have clumsy fingers and get a cut or a bent heat spreader. Others are in correct order a higher placed memory port and a 90 degree angle in all six SATA ports but the other two are facing up, but don’t be worried they are not abstracted by the graphics car or even a long one.

Two PCI slots with no pin connectors can be a hassle to some people, where you sometimes don’t know the pins of the graphics card are fit correctly or a good chance to fall off when the screw is not placed. With the performance of the MSI P45 is still up with the top of the crowd and also the much publicise DRMOS that are place in the CPU, are in fact what MSI says that are used technology used in Sever business, well true, but the server are not well oriented to the overclocking type. So with overclocking can be sometimes unstable, when I find out that the CMOS button in the back became really useful. With the test average on memory and raw performance, overall the overclockability is sluggish, but for the design is good while it is not good in as a stable overclockable board.
